Maximizing Your Landing Pages: A Comprehensive Landingi Review

Landingi is a landing page building software named as though someone wanted to emulate iRobot, but felt it to be a bit cliché. Instead, they put the “i” at the end to make it less noticeable.

Of course, there’s also a chance they could have named it “Landing-EE,” which would just be weird.

Regardless of naming motivations, Landingi is a less expensive alternative to your LeadPages, ClickFunnels, or Kartra page builders. In being a more cost-effective alternative, you risk becoming the dollar store variant of something great.

So, if you want to find out if Landingi is worth your time and (less) money, check out our Landingi review.

What is Landingi?

Landingi home page screenshot

Landingi was founded by Błażej (Blaise) Abel in 2013, starting as an interactive agency in 2005. Since then, the company has grown to more than 60 team members in 80 countries and expanded in the US market with a headquarters in Dallas, Texas. So, while you won’t see them top any headlines, they’ve had some success.

Landingi has received funding from various companies, including Innovation Next, bValue, and Knowledge Hub. Much of this came from the CEO’s strong business background as a Stanford graduate. However, he doesn’t have the same insane marketing background as Russel Brunson or Mike Filsaime.

The tools they offer include your essential landing page builders and popups, digital product checkouts, funnels, and optimization tools.

Who is Landingi for?

As you’ll find out reading, Landingi is better for entrepreneurs and small businesses with simple needs. Those who sell one-time digital products will find the most use from Landingi. Those with more complex needs or with larger budgets might look elsewhere.

Where Landingi struggles is its funnel-building software. Because it is the cheaper alternative, there are some oversights. None of these oversights are found in the landing page-building software, which is a simple drag-and-drop interface.

Landingi pricing and plans

Landingi Pricing and Plans

Landingi breaks its offering into four areas, which differ based on the features you get and the number of visitors you get per month. This immediately draws attention to how cost-effective their tools are. However, there’s a catch.

The visit limit per month is incredibly limiting, which could be a problem for those with high traffic but still discovering how to make conversions. If you have a good conversion system, this might be fine. But since most marketers are still learning to convert, these plans can get expensive.

But before paying, you can try out the features with a 14-day free trial.

The Core Plan

The Core Plan is your entry-level plan, costing $35 per month. If you pay annually, it goes to $290, as you get a discount and two months free with all annual plans.

Here’s what you get for paying this amount:

  • Unlimited landing pages and conversions
  • Up to 1,000 visits per month (can pay for more)
  • One custom domain
  • Your pages will have the Landingi logo on them

Under the core plan, you’ll need more monthly visits. Thankfully, you can pay for an extra 5,000 visits for $5. You can also pay for an additional custom domain for the same price.

Having these breakdowns do mean you have more control over pricing. However, high-volume users will find this cost to be pretty dramatic. A conversion-based cost measurement system is usually because you pay more based on customers.

The Create Plan

The Create Plan is for small business owners, costing $79 per month. You can also choose to pay $650 annually.

The main bonus for this level is a free migration service that helps you move your pages from the old service to this new service. Otherwise, you start at 20 thousand unique visitors and two custom domains.

Here are some extra features you get:

  • Ten account users
  • Access to popups, lightboxes, a logo library, and custom fonts
  • Background videos, page history information, custom HTML integration
  • Access to more site and email integrations
  • Can export your leads via CSV and XLSV files

If you don’t want the popups or extra integrations, this level isn’t worth your money. You’ll find that you can save money by combining the Core Plan with four purchases of additional visits. But the Core Plan does have fewer features.

The Automate Plan

The Automate Plan costs $109 per month or $890 per year. This level is said to be for marketing pros who want automated features. It also includes 40 thousand visits and four domains.

You also get these extra features:

  • Smart sections (global elements to change across multiple pages)
  • A campaign scheduler
  • Access to an autoresponder and sales funnels

The Automate Plan has access to more automated features, letting you “set and forget” much of your plans. This makes it comparable to services like Clickfunnels or Sendinblue in what it offers.

The Agency Plan

The Agency Plan costs $129 per month or $1090 yearly. With this plan, you get 50 thousand visitors, five domains, and unlimited subaccounts. You can probably guess this level is geared toward marketing agencies based on the name.

With the agency level, you get access to an agency control panel, access for clients, an image/template library, and priority support.

The one thing that’s misleading is that the user accounts per sub-account are a maximum of 20 people. So, there are limitations to this account, but you would need a huge marketing team to exceed them.

Creating your account and accessing the dashboard

Once you go through the account creation process, you’ll be brought to the dashboard. The first video you see will give you a quick two-minute review of how to use the builder.

They also reveal how to say their company name, Landing-EE. This makes my intro slightly awkward.

Moving on.

Before you create a page, take some time to look at the navigation bar. You’ll be using it throughout this process, and we will be traveling down throughout our review.

But first, let’s get started by building our first landing page

Using the Landini landing page platform

To determine whether Landing offers an effective landing page tool, we will go through the process of making a page. Like all of these builders, it starts by selecting from a library of landing page templates.

Landingi catalog of landing page templates

The landing pages are sorted into three areas: goals, funnel steps, and industry type. This makes it easy to find the right template for you. There are many beautiful landing page templates, which is a great start.

Clicking the “use template” button will let you get started.

Navigating the Landingi landing page creation tool

Landingi landing page building app

After running through some minimalist apps, Landingi feels somewhat cluttered. Much of this comes from the landing page checklist, which you can minimize.

The checklist does give you the steps needed to create an effective landing page. For everything else, here’s a breakdown of navigation, starting with the upper-left leading down:

  • Section – This icon lets you add a new section that includes a combination of forms, titles, and images.
  • The text, form, and button pages drag those respective things onto the page.
  • The pay buttons let you add Stripe, PayPal, and PayU buttons on your screen.
  • The counter icon lets you drag countdown timers.
  • The image icon lets you drag images and integrates with Unsplash. The Icon does the same thing with icons.
  • The video icon lets you add videos, while the box icon lets you add boxes.
  • The HTML icon is for custom HTML.

Further navigation along the top will allow you to undo or redo, switch between mobile and desktop views, and switch between your main landing page and thank you page. You can also preview your page, save it, and publish it.

The right side is for the general settings of whatever you’ve selected. This includes everything from style elements to SEO information and social data. Navigation is simple and focuses on essential features. The one critique you could make is that there’s too much onscreen, keeping you from focusing on the design.

Using the drag-and-drop landing builder

Using the Landingi fully-featured landing page editor

Clicking on any element will place familiar moving boxes around the corner, similar to moving text in photoshop. But what makes the builder better than most is the ability to move the page elements wherever you want. This is a step away from the standard grid-based editors.

This makes it closer to builders like DropFunnels, making it more creatively effective. It also means you don’t have to worry about putting things next to things in your building. But it can put more pressure on business owners who don’t want to spend time designing their pages.

The landing page app also makes it easy to edit different page elements. Anytime you click one, the right-hand bar will change to the design and usage elements of the item.

For example, form building, which can be a pain on most platforms, it’s built right into Landingi’s platform. Clicking “general settings” on the right side will bring up ways you can edit the form fields, email integration, and autoresponder settings without having to leave the builder.

Landingi's form building tools

You can also do the same with buttons, improving the functionality of the landing pages you build. This makes Landingi an appreciated sleeper hit in the page-builder world.

So, if you want simple landing page software with creative flexibility, Landingi can help. But other landing page builders do better in one area: having more modules or elements.

Things like image carousels, accordions, and other advanced elements are nowhere to be seen. You also can’t use this tool to build complete web pages, only landing pages.

What are smart sections?

A big part of this landing page builder app is the use of smart sections. Smart sections are pre-built sections of a page that you plan on using multiple times throughout your pages. They help you avoid recreating the same pages repeatedly.

For example, you might use the same form across multiple landing pages. Smart sections let you set up the integrations, design, and requested field boxes for your form without needing to recreate it multiple times.

The only problem with these sections is that you get no templates. This isn’t a problem unless you want to use these sections to create repetitive designs.

The smart sections tool uses the same building software.

Creating lightboxes and popups

Both the lightboxes and popups tab also use the same building software. What makes them different is the lightboxes do not have templates. Meanwhile, paying extra for popups also includes additional templates.

Landingi popup template selection

Because both of them use the same builder, we won’t repeat ourselves. What does change is how you publish them, as both will allow you to publish on internal or external sites using a code.

Meanwhile, only the popups option integrates fully internally. This won’t make much of a difference for people who know how to copy and paste.

Adding products and setting up payment gateways

The last part of your building process is creating new products. The way Landingi supports this is mainly through digital products. You can take one-time payments, which is about it.

This much is apparent when you create a product under the products tab; it gives you two options. When you fill in those options, your product creation is done.

Landingi product creation process

Once you create your product, you can connect it to the payment gateway button found on your page builder. However, you’ll need to take care of your payment gateways.

Landingi supports PayPal Business, Stripe, and PayU. To connect them, you can go to your account settings in the upper right and get the related IDs.

Landingi will help you take one payment, which puts it below the tiers of some other page software. Other software will let you take multiple payments.

Building an effective sales funnel with Landingi

Now, regarding funnel creation, we found that Landingi could use some work. Mainly because the way you create funnels is unusual.

To create funnels, you need to have your buttons direct to other pages. In this case, those pages are other pages you’ve created with the editor.

Landingi button action menu that redirects to other landing pages

So, there’s no visual representation of going through each funnel stage. Instead, you can use the “add group” button to create related pages and dig through the pages to see which ones connect.

Compared to ClickFunnels, this feels pretty backward. Landingi’s platform makes it incredibly difficult if you want complex funnel-building functionality. This can be especially true if you have multi-stage funnels that can go in multiple directions.

You can solve some of these problems by creating groups. However, a good funnel-building app should already have these stages and alternatives grouped for you.

Using the landing page dashboard

The landing page dashboard breaks down additional features that apply to your landing page. These features let you tweak the following areas:

  • “Optimization” refers to their A/B testing tool
  • “JavaScript Code” lets you add codes (usually for website tracking purposes)
  • The InfoBar is an alert bar that pops up to direct people to another page or provide them with information.
  • “Schedule” lets you future date the release and end day and time of your landing page.
  • “Settings” lets you get email notifications for your leads, add a dynamic thank-you page, and remove your landing page from indexing in search engines. You can also add a Facebook Conversions API here.

Optimization tools – using the A/B tester

Landingi A/B testing tools

Returning to landing pages, once you create it, you’ll be able to return to a dashboard. The second tab on the dashboard is optimization. This is where you can find their A/B testing tool.

A/B testing is a cornerstone of any successful marketing campaign. The best versions of A/B testing duplicate the main page, so you can tweak a small part of it. This is precisely what Landingi does.

It allows you to decide the traffic split and determine the conversion rates between the two page variants. This way, you can choose which page will be more effective for your campaign over time.

What do users say about Landingi?

According to results from Capterra and G2, customer reception is excellent. Both are at or above 4.5 out of 5, with many customers sharing a positive experience. It has been an emerging favorite on Capterra this year and the last.

Positive reviews share it is an affordable alternative to big names in the industry. Many people are also happy with their customer service, as they have taken constructive feedback to improve the platform.

Many of the critiques share that the platform is slow to load. Also, they agree that the lack of analytical data (especially for agency accounts) is pretty limited. They also want better syncing options with WordPress integration.

Wrap Up – is Landingi worth your money?

Landingi is worth the most to people who have one-time sales needs. It has no email marketing and requires extra effort in funnel building. However, its simplistic and creative landing page builder is well worth the investment.

Landingi could quickly improve its software by making its funnel builder more straightforward. To do this, they might want to take notes from ClickFunnels, which has an integrated dashboard to see each stage of the funnel and connect it to the page. For now, it’s better with more straightforward concepts.

For those who sell digital products with lower conversion rates, Landingi users might also experience negative returns. Because of tight page view restrictions, it reminds us that other page builders that have conversion limits (instead of visitor limits) might be more cost effective. However, those who have lower monthly views might actually save money.

Landingi is an excellent entry-level alternative for those who lack the budget for other options.
